Nacho Libre, LDI, BABIES EVERYWHERE, next year....

I can't believe how quickly this past year has gone, and how much has happened in that time.  I just want to send out a wee little update on all things LDI and summer, and....well... friends.

This groups of people (the LDI interns) are pretty great, and have become some of my good friends and co-workers.  I can't imagine this year without each and every one of them.
We love spending time with each other so much that we even decided to have a Nacho Libre night in a couple weeks.  I've never seen this gem of a movie, so I'm sad that I can't make it, but I think I will be okay substituting a wedding for Nacho Libre.  Maybe I can memorize some of the scenes before the wedding and provide some entertainment at the reception???

Really, this group of LDI interns has been such a huge blessing in my life!  We may not have Gossip Girl season premiere parties with wine and crazy "doesn't make any sense" braids in our hair, or plan girls' weekends in Chicago, and many of our friendships may not last past this year....however, we do have dance parties in the Hope sanctuary, and watch the top 50 YouTube videos of all time, and debate theology, and laugh until our bellies ache.  I can't even believe how blessed I am to have so many amazing people in my life!

Also, this summer Hope will be working on remodeling and renovating the new building we bought!  It's the church right next door, and there is a lot to do!  We get to tear down walls, create new spaces, tear up musty carpet, and make bathrooms that you can use for more than just a sitting room made for one.  Watch this video for an idea of what this project is going to look like:

For this project, I get to organize childcare!  Which means there will be a lot of BABIES in my life this summer!  It's going to feel like camp but a whole lot less intense, since I can delegate to so many people this time and don't have to work 24/7.....I think... :)  I'm really excited about this new building, and how much space it gives us.  We will have breathing room and leg room in the new sanctuary, and classrooms to boot.  It's going to be glorious!  We will also have an office for all the interns next year, which is something we didn't have this year!

In other LDI news, just to keep y'all updated.....I will for sure be doing Trek 2 (the 2nd and 3rd years) next year!  This means two more years of classes and ministry at Hope, and I'm so excited to continue!  Eventually I'd like to do youth and children's ministry with a church plant, but there are so many other things I'd love to do too:  work at camp for the rest of my life, work with inner city kids and youth, host SNL, be a famous Broadway tap dancer, or maybe just be an old crazy cat lady.  I'm pretty open to ideas. ;)

Also, if you don't get the "BABIES EVERYWHERE!" reference, here's a video for your viewing pleasure:
